By focusing on person-centered programming and evidence-based practices, I ensure each participant gains essential skills for personal and professional growth.

My comprehensive suite of Community Class courses is designed to understand, guide empower and achieve with individuals aged 8 to 45 by equipping them with essential competencies. From mastering financial literacy to enhancing time management and digital proficiency, these classes foster independence and confidence. Participants also benefit from training in job readiness, stress management, and community engagement, promoting holistic personal development. I address diverse aspects of everyday life, aiming to improve quality of life and facilitate successful integration into various community and professional settings.

I offer both online and in-person sessions, with in-person availability in Queens and Nassau counties for your convenience.

Financial Literacy & Budgeting

Ages 8-45

This class covers money management, budgeting, and financial decision-making to promote responsible economic habits.

  • Develop a personal budget tracking monthly income and expenses. 

  • Set a savings goal and outline steps to achieve it, such as reducing discretionary spending.

  • Compare different banking options to understand interest rates and account benefits.

Time Management & Organizational Skills

Ages 8-45

Focuses on strategies for scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining organized personal spaces.

 

  • Create a daily planner outlining tasks, deadlines, and allocated time slots. 

  • Prioritize a list of tasks using a matrix to distinguish between urgent and important activities.

  • Implement a decluttering project for a personal space, such as a bedroom or workspace.

Public Transportation Navigation

Ages 8-45

Informs participants how to read transit maps, purchase tickets, and navigate various modes of public transportation safely.

  • Plan a route using local transit maps to a chosen destination, noting transfers and schedules.

  • Purchase the appropriate fare for a trip, understanding different ticketing options.

  • Identify key safety practices while waiting for and riding public transportation.
     

Household Management Essentials

Ages 8-45

Participants learn skills like cleaning, laundry, and basic home maintenance to manage a household effectively.

  • Create a cleaning schedule that outlines daily, weekly, and monthly chores. 

  • Sort laundry by color and fabric type, then operate a washing machine and dryer correctly.

  • Perform basic home maintenance tasks, such as changing a light bulb or unclogging a drain.

Community Engagement & Exploration

Ages 12-45

Encourages involvement in local events, volunteer opportunities, and understanding community resources.

  • Research and attend a local community event or workshop that aligns with personal interests.

  • Volunteer for a local organization, dedicating a set number of hours per month. 

  • Compile a directory of nearby community centers, libraries, and recreational facilities.

Digital Literacy & Online Safety

Ages 8-45

This class informs participants how to navigate the digital world responsibly, covering topics such as internet safety, effective online communication, and basic troubleshooting skills.

  • Set up strong, unique passwords for online accounts and enable two-factor authentication.

  • Identify and report phishing emails or suspicious online messages.

  • Practice basic troubleshooting steps, such as restarting a device or checking internet connections.

Writing For Empowerment & Self-Discovery

Ages 8-30

Writing is a valuable tool for self-expression, reflection, and personal growth. Through creative and structured writing, participants explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences in ways that foster self-awareness, communication skills, and confidence.

Job Readiness & Workplace Etiquette

Ages 15-45

Focuses on preparing individuals for employment by teaching resume writing, interview techniques, and professional behavior in the workplace. 

  • Draft a professional resume highlighting skills, experiences, and accomplishments.

  • Participate in a mock interview to practice responding to common interview questions.

  • Research appropriate workplace attire and prepare outfits suitable for different job settings.
     

Stress Management & Mindfulness Practices

Ages 8-45

Introduces techniques such as mindfulness meditation, deep breathing exercises, and time management strategies to help individuals manage stress effectively.

  • Incorporate a daily mindfulness meditation session, starting with five minutes and gradually increasing.

  • Practice deep breathing exercises during moments of stress or anxiety. 

  • Identify time-wasting habits and develop strategies to minimize them, such as setting specific time limits for social media use.
